Earth will be traveling through the Comet’s dust stream, with the best possibility for viewing meteors between 3 and 5 PM EST. NASA is predicting up to 750 meteors an hour during the event. Did you know that both chambers of Congress created standing committees for direct oversight of NASA after the agency was created in 1958? The House committee gave its responsibilities to the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology in 1975, and the Senate committee gave it’s responsibilities to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation in 1977.  The sun might make it difficult to see the meteors, but will you still try?
